In 1939, 20,000 Nazi supporters rallied in Madison Square Garden in the heart of New York City. When Academy Award-nominated documentarian Marshall Curry stumbled upon footage of the rally, he was shocked—and driven to create his short film A Night at the Garden.
Join us for a screening of this short 8-minute film, co-presented with PBS, and a discussion with Marshall Curry and Professor Rebecca Kobrin (Russell and Bettina Knapp Associate Professor of American Jewish History, Department of History, Columbia University) about the history and rise of Nazism in the United States.
This event is co-presented by POV, PBS' award-winning nonfiction film series.
