Witness Theater: The Sound of Silence - In Person

Date

Sunday April 23

Time (Eastern Time)

3:00 PM  –  4:30 PM

Bear witness to the unique performance of Witness Theater, which is the culmination of seven months of heartfelt collaboration between five Holocaust survivors who have shared their stories with sixteen high school students. On the stage, the survivors are narrators while students re-enact their wartime experiences. This collective performance honors, shares, and celebrates the extraordinary survivors and their stories, and highlights the life-changing lessons they have imparted to the students.

The performance will be followed by a talkback and Q&A with members of the creative team.

Doors open at 2:30 PM. Admission to the Museum's exhibitions is free with attendance.

Witness Theater is presented by Selfhelp Community Services, UJA-Federation of New York, and Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School.

Witness Theater was conceived by Irit and Ezra Dagan and developed by JDC-Eshel in Israel. It was brought to New York in 2012 by Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. This year’s Witness Theater Program is a collaboration of Selfhelp, UJA-Federation of New York, Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School, and the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust.
The program also receives generous support from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), Carol and Carl Hess, the Miriam and Arthur Diamond Charitable Trust, and the Robert and Trudy Gottesman Philanthropic Fund.
