See and learn about the Jewish history of Peru’s capital city of Lima, focusing on the period during the 17th century Spanish occupation of Peru. We will follow the footsteps Manuel Bautista Perez, a Portuguese merchant and member of the “secret” Jewish community of Lima who was accused of being Jewish in 1635 and later killed by the Inquisition in 1639. Learn about the history one of the lesser known, smallest, and oldest non-indigenous communities of Peru from our Lima-born guide, Vanessa, who has surprising Jewish roots herself.

Please note: The Museum’s virtual walking tours are live-only events and will not be available to watch after the event is over. Also, event times are in Eastern time; use this time zone converter to see what time it will be in the city being toured.
