Join us for a panel discussion with leading figures of the grassroots Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry (SSSJ), including Rabbi Avi Weiss, author of Open Up the Iron Door: Memoirs of a Soviet Jewry Activist. Rabbi Weiss and Leo Slepak (former refusnik) will speak with Museum of Jewish Heritage Prins Fellow Mati Pawlak about how a small group of young students and activists successfully helped rescue a fifth of world Jewry—and what we can learn from their efforts about advocacy, activism, and Jewish unity today.
