Virtual Walking Tour: Warsaw, Poland
Warsaw’s Jewish Praga District holds incredible heritage which will be revealed on this livestreamed, virtual walking tour. Located on the east bank of the Vistula River, this neighborhood was safe from bombing by the Nazis, which means we’ll see one of the more historic areas, full of original character. Learn about the origins of the Jewish community in this part of Warsaw, along with the stories of notable figures like Nobel Laureate Menachem Begin, who studied law at the University of Warsaw, and Irena Sendler, a Polish social worker who, as part of the Polish Underground Resistance, risked her life to save thousands of Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. Co-presented with Wowzitude.
