Embracing Survival
With author and Rwandan Genocide survivor, Dydine Umunyana
In this poignant memoir, told through the eyes of the author as a four-year-old child, Umunyana recounts how she barely survived the Rwandan Genocide after being separated from her family and how she coped in the aftermath of the massacre. Umunyana discovers that “I have learned that we cannot do for others what we cannot do for ourselves. By nourishing the light within ourselves, we find strength we never knew was there.”
