About the Speaker
Jill Abromowitz Gutmann is the Executive Director of the Jewish Museum of Buffalo and leads the organization's dynamic community education and cultural programming, most notably highlighting the newly opened Stuart and Caren Shapiro Jewish Genealogy Center of Buffalo. This key feature of the museum offers visitors and researchers an interactive gateway to discovering family histories, heritage, and regional roots.
Bringing a rich background in Jewish ethics, education, culinary history, halakha, medical ethics, and public health, Jill shapes the museum’s mission around hands-on, project-based, and child-led learning experiences. She holds a B.A. summa cum laude from Smith College, completed a Fulbright Fellowship in South Korea, and earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine alongside a Master of Arts in Jewish Law and Ethics from Hebrew Union College. Having directed educational initiatives in Auckland, Metro Detroit, and Buffalo, Jill is dedicated to creating accessible, immersive history and heritage education for all ages at the Jewish Museum of Buffalo.
